For graduate students, we offer Masters and Ph.D. programs in Hispanic Linguistics and in Literary and Cultural Studies, as well as an MA in the Teaching of Spanish.

Reflecting our dedication to building interdisciplinary programs, our faculty and students work closely with our colleagues in Latin American and Latino Studies, Gender and Women’s Studies, Disability Studies, the Humanities Institute, English, Linguistics, Psychology, and Philosophy among others. In addition, the department is closely affiliated with important cultural institutions in the city such as the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago and the Newberry Library, where our students can readily partake of scholarly and cultural events just a few minutes away from campus.
