About
Since coming to UIC in 2001, I have taught face-to-face and hybrid courses to beginner level, intermediate level and heritage students. My main goal has been to create a positive and enjoyable environment for students, that will motivate them to actively participate in class without being afraid to make mistakes. I was born and raised in Pilsen, a predominantly Mexican neighborhood that grants me the opportunity to provide students more than just language skills, but also first-hand cultural experiences via music, food and art that enrich and make the process of learning Spanish fun and engaging. There is nothing more rewarding than helping a student overcome the fear and challenges of learning a new language.
