Bernard Issa awarded an NSF Grant and the Chancellor’s Graduate Fellowship
Congratulations to Bernard Issa of the Hispanic and Italian Studies Department for receiving a prestigious National Science Foundation Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant. The NSF award letter stated that his dissertation project "shows a solid connection to previous research but takes a creative next step in applying theory to experimental study and applied linguistics."
Additional congratulations to Bernard on being awarded a UIC Chancellor's Graduate Fellowship to support his research on "Morphosyntactic Development in a Second Language: An Eye Tracking Study on the Role of Attention."
