Rosie Hernández publication to receive award
Rosie Hernández, Associate Professor of Early Modern Peninsular Studies at UIC, and Anne Cruz of the University of Miami, have been honored by the Society for the Study of Early Modern Women for their book Women’s Literacy in Early Modern Spain and the New World (Ashgate, 2011). The publication will receive this year’s award for a Collaborative Project.
The selection committee praised the volume for its attention to both known and lesser known figures as well as its bringing together top experts to extend scholarship on women’s participation in the written cultures of early modern Spain and the New World.
