Please join the Department of Hispanic and Italian Studies for an interview with Professor William Egginton of John Hopkins University as we discuss his most recent publication, The Man Who Invented Fiction: How Cervantes Ushered in the Modern World (2016). Egginton is a distinguished scholar of Spanish and Latin American literature and literary theory. He is the author of How the World Became a Stage (2003), Perversity and Ethics (2006), A Wrinkle in History (2007), The Philosopher’s Desire (2007), and The Theater of Truth (2010). In addition to scholarly articles, he also writes opinion pieces for the New York Times.
